"AMPHITRYON 38."
The Wellington Repertory Theatre will commence a five nights' season of Jean Giraudoux's delightful comedy, "Amphitryon 38," at the Town Hall Concert Chamber tonight. The story tells how Jupiter visited the lovely Alkmena in the only guise that would conquer this faithful wife —that of her absent husband. Some unexpected and amusing situations are the outcome of the visit and the dialogue which ensues is witty and wise. It is a play full of chuckles. The cast comprises Mrs. Craig Mackenzie, Mrs. W. A. Martin, Molly Cook, Mary Sladden, W. S. Wauchop, P. C. Benham, W. F. C. Balham, Charles Johnston, N. V. Wotton, and Gordon Hooper. Unusually attractive costumes have been made by Molly Cook, and delightful settings by W. J. Johnstone and W. J. Conroy. The production is under the direction of W. S. Wauchop. The season will conclude on Saturday night, and will include a Saturdaymatinee in aid of patriotic funds. The box plans are at the D.I.C.
