MAGISTRATE'S COURT
George Stanley Stewart, a labourer, aged 51, who appeared before Mr. J. L. Stout, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court, today, charged with assaulting Winifred Margaret Ongley, was convicted and sentenced to 14 days' imprisonment with hard labour.
Harvey Ashworth, a labourer, aged 24, was sentenced to three months' imprisonment with hard labour for the theft of 12s 6d in money, the property of J. R. Bryant.
Richard Turner, a seaman, aged 48, was sentenced to six weeks' imprisonment for desertion.
Reginald Oliver Castle, a labourer, aged 25, who pleaded guilty to seven charges of theft, at Wellington, was convicted and sentenced to terms of imprisonment totalling six months. On a charge of breaking and entering and theft he was remanded to appear at To Awamutu.
