FROST DAMAGE

. APRICOT CROPS

(By Telegraph—Pi-ess Association.)

DUNEDIN,; This Day.

Frost damage in orchards throughout Central Otago has been fairly- severe this season. The principal fruits affected are apricots and, to a lesser extent, nectarines. Peaches in most districts have come off lightly, and the plum crop this year was forecast as a light one in any event. Roxburgh growers report a loss of 75 per cent, on apricots. Fire pots have been effective in warding off frosts. Apples and pears are not affected.
