Ambon seventyseven years of age. Mr. Gibbons, despite his years, is a very active member'of the community. In recognition ! „,.„>. ,},„,;„„ +h o inct war h«* ot mb WOIK ruling v«. i^l wdi m. was made an M.B.E, and he is still a member of the Wanganm-Waitotara Patriotic Association, which he helped to form. Mr. James Allison s father came to Wellington in 1840, and walked up the beach to Wanganui. He is an authority on horticulture, . and his garden and water-lily lake are known to gardeners throughout New Zealand. For many years he was a prominent member of the Farmers' Union.
