(By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright.)

SYDNEY, October 5.

\An unprecedented incident happened in the Epsom Handicap, when Beaulivre, who was one of the most fancied candidates for years, was suddenly pulled up when in a wluning position a furlong from home. His jockey, D. Munro, explained that he thought Beaulivre had broken dowu irretrievably. (He dismounted at the post. However, Beaulivre walked satisfactorily to the enclosure, and looked quite well. He was later examined by a veterinary surgeon, who reported that "Beatilivre, when cooled off, disclosed. no injury or abnormality." A huge circle of Beaulivre's admirers was chagrined by the untoward happening.

With' Beaulivre out of the way, High Caste ran on to a well-deserved Epsom victory. High Caste stripped thoroughly fit for the Epsom, and left the course quite sound.
