TO WASH SOILED RUGS
Many women have from time to time been fascinated with rug-making but they are not so pleased when they see the result of their labours being soiled as they inevitably must. These rugs, however, are extremely easy to wash and the thrifty housewife will 6nd the following instructions useful.
Choose a dry, windy day. Have a bath ready of really hot suds with a couple of tablespoonsful of ammonia or turpentine. Put the rug through two lots of this soapy water. Now rinse and rinse . and rinse. A little vinegar in the rinsing water helps to
