ON THE COMMITTEE

, Messrs. J. H. . Phillipps and E. C Wiren were the two retiring membert of the Wellington Cricket Association* management committee wtho did not seek re-election at the annual meeting. The . others were re-elected, and Messrs. J. D. Howitt and P. Henley were the additional nominees to be elected. A place on the committee is not new for Mr. Howitt, though it is something li*e twenty-five years since ho occupied one. He had a hand in the administration of local cricket in the days when Messrs. C. G. Wilson, M. J. Crombie, A. A. George, E. H. Ward, F. J. O'Driscoll, V. B. Willis, F. A. Midlane D. McKenzie, and G. F. Gibb were also on the committee managing the association's affairs. For years, too, Mr. Howitt was a well known senior player, he being an. opening batsman for Institute. He is still one of -the Boys' Institute stalwarts, and takes a prominent part these days in the control of that institution. Mr. Henley has taken a live interest in the Wellington Cricket Club since he joined up with, it on coming from Ausxralia. He has played regularly as a senior, and, though not compiling the aggregates that came from his bat in Queensland, he has knocked up some tidy scores. As an enthusiastic club captain he has been serving his club admirably.
