DEATH IN "IRON LUNG"

Andrew Keady.an able seaman on the Armadale, aged about 66 of Liverpool, died in a hospital "iron lung" last night after a fall into the' harbour from the Armadale's gangway. Keady was lifted to the wharf after a few minutes in the water, and.artificial respiration was applied by two police constables and a Free Ambu-: lance driver for an hour and a quarter. He was then rushed to hospital from Aotea Quay in a police escorted ambulance, in which endeavours at resuscitation were stilt going on, and on arrival at the hospital he was placed in the "iron lung." but he died at 8.30, two hours after his fall. ' It is thought that he may have struck'some obstruction when he fell.
