BRITISH NOTE

PRESENTED TO RUMANIA

LONDON, October 3.

The British Minister in Bucharest called at the Rumanian Foreign Office with« a further Note about the unexplained detention of five British subjects. The Note demands to know when they will be released, or else what charges are being made against them, and when they are to be tried.

The British Legation declares that no Note has been received from the Rumanian Government corresponding in any way with a fantastic version put out by the German news agency. This German version alleges that Rumania had accused the British Minister himself of being involved in plans for sabotage and suggested his recall. The Rumanians have made no such request. _________
