WAR SUPPLIES FOR BRITAIN AND U.S.

PARACHUTE BATTALION

WASHINGTON, October 3,

The Naval Secretary, Colonel Knox, announced that the United States is undertaking, with British acquiescence, mass production of aeroplanes and other essential war materials by standardisation. The specifications for such productions will be prepared simultaneously for the United States and for Britain.

The War Secretary, Mr. H. L. Stimson, announced that the first American parachute battalion, comprising 500 men, is being formed at Fort Benning.
