EVANS BAY YACHT CLUB
The effect of the war upon the sport of sailing was commented upon at the annual meeting of the Evans Bay Yacht and Motor-boat Club last night by the retiring commodore, Mr. G. H. Tanner, and he forecast for the club a hard year and a heavy responsibility for the officials in caring for the interests of members with the Forces, who were being kept on the club books during their absence.
Eleven members, were reported to have joined the R.A.F.. 11 in the Army and 7 in the Navy. Regret, was expressed that Flying Officer Don Williams. R.A.F., had been reported missing on patrol duty.
It was stated that there was a continued demand for shed accommodation at the bay, and members with sheds were urged to assist in storing clubmates' gear.
