WELL-KNOWN CRICKETER

Advice has been received that Sergeant Clement P. S. Wareham, who left with the Second Echelon, was accidentally killed on September 30. The youngest son of Mrs. Emily and the iate Mr. Joseph Wareham, of Lyall Bay, Sergeant Wareham was a wellknown Wellington sportsman, having taken a prominent part in cricket as well as being keenly interested in other branches of sport. He was a member of the Wellington College Old Boys first eleven, and made many a good score in senior cricket. As a golfer he showed considerable promise with the Karori Golf Club. On and off the field of play he was held in high esteem. He was on service.with the sth Field Regiment, N.Z.A.
