DEAN JULIUS HONOURED

The choir boys of the Christchurch Cathedral and their mothers, entertained. Dean Julius and Mrs. Julius at afternoon tea on Tuesday. The function* was held in Beath's private reception, room, and opportunity was •' taken. to make a presentation to the Dean from the boys, the gift, a fruit : bowl, being handed to him by Robert Dodson. A bouquet was presented to Mrs. Julius by -Clarence Griffiths, states the, "Christchurch Star-Sun." Mrs.' John Glen, mother of the senior choir boy and soloist, who, with Mrs. W. Cresswell, was hostess at the func- ' tion,,said that the party had been ar- : ranged -to express the appreciation of the boys and their parents for the close contact so happily maintained during -the Dean's long term of office at the-Christchurch. Cathedral. Mrs. Glen mentioned the Dean's unfailing interest in the boys' work and sport, and thanked him, amid applause, for the pleasure he had always given them on/the, eagerly-awaited annual occasion of the. visits to his "shack" at Sunnier. An,old boy who had been a member of the. Cathedra] choir in 1890. Mr. Hugh Hobbs, recalled pleasant memories of association with Dean j Julius' and his family during fifty ! years.. . Dean.
