In reply to- the/-'statement by "the Leader of the Opposition: (the Hori. Al Hamilton) on thesubject of his party's co-operatiqn with*;-the . Governriierit in trie war effort, the Hon: .WE^ Barnard, Speaker of the House of Representatives, said today:^-; *"" 7-.'■*■'

"Mr. Hamilton seems to resent the fact that he and his colleagues have not been called into councils of the Cabinet. Well, the Government has a number of young,: able men .'whom it could well;\i.nclude in 7Cabinet before it paid heed to the suggestion implicit in/Mr. Hamilton's final; statement." •

In I\lr.\ Hamilton's statement; which was published yesterday1, , the firial paragraph was as follows:—

•T would like \o conclude by stating that the Opposition has received no cooperation of any kind from the-Gov-ernment since our first offer. I have received no. more information than any : member of the public; nor have I in' any way been in any:different positionl than I was as Leader: of the Oppositidit the offer of co-operation was given. In spite of this members of the Opposition and the National Party are putting every bit of their support into the War effort as apart from the political field. The Government cannot deny that, or the great assistance it has received from our peopl«h"___
