CAMPAIGN IN BRITAIN

45,000 TONS IN THREE WEEKS

LONDON, November 14. An appeal for scrap iron issued by controlling interests in the iron iand steel industry brought in the first three weeks 45,000 'tons which otherwise would have been wasted, This is equivalent to seven or eight shiploads, without shipping risks, and loss iof foreign exchange. l"

The campaign is expected to produce, in addition to scrap iron from normal sources, a* quarter of a million tons, representing half a million tons of finished steel.
