MEDIATION OFFER
War the Only Way to Settle Differences

LONDON, November 14.
The official German reply to the mediation offer made by Belgium and Holland has been handed to the Belgian and Dutch Ministers in Berlin.
German Press agencies state that the German Foreign Minister, Herr yon Ribbentrop, advised the Ministers that the reply would be a polite "No." Herr yon Eibbentrop drafted the Note on November 13. The Belgian and Dutch envoys were informed that the Note is based on the refusal of Britain and France, whiqh rendered peace at present impossible. The Berlin correspondent of the Stockholm newspaper "Aftonbladet" states that Mr. Churchill's broadcast speech has. convinced Herr Hitler that only war could settle the differences between Germany and the Allies.
