.. Awapuni stables are well represented at'the'Levin Meeting, and most of the horses were set useiul tasks yesterday morning, when the weather was fine but cold. The plough, which was slow, and the course proper, with the flags wide out, were in use for fast work. Clarion Call, for whom there are no immediate plans, worked once round on the plough. The Bigot, finishing resolutely, ran the last six furlongs of 1^ miles in lmin 22sec. Ecstatic, with an advantage fjn the weights, was only a head away from Laughing Lass at the end of five furlongs m lmin ssec. Colonel Bogey, whose next outing will be at Feilding, where he will appear in open company, was given useiul pacing. Royal Sign and Malik Kafur worked over seven furlongs, and they came home the last two in 29sec. Girl Pat and Silvanus, going along nicely at the finish, ran the last five* of seven furlongs iri lmin Usee. La Coquette and Israel were on terms at the end of five furlongs in lmin Bsec, and Old Bill was given au easy half-mile, tlie last three taking him 44sec. Moradabad, who is taking time in coming to hand, sprinted five furlongs in lmin 8 3-ssec. First to gallop on the course proper was the Inflation—-Idle Chat colt Chary, who came home strongly to cover the last three of four furlongs in 39.} see. There is not much of this1 youngster but he can gallop, Goldburo was not asked to; do her best over three furlongs, which she covered iri.SS^sec. •'-■ Guiding Light maintained an even pace over seven furlongs, taking lmin 23 2-ssec for the last six and 41 3-ssec for the last three. She has been working well lately, and it will be interesting to see how she shapes at Levin. ; Flammarion sprinted five furlongs in lmin ssec, which, was a really good effort. Deflation and a Lord Quex colt sprinted five furlongs in lmin 10 2-5 see, and Caution worked well over seven furlongs in lmin 38 3-ssec. W, J.
