This was, too, the first- opportunity that the public had had of seeing the reflecting pools passively doing their important work of doubling the beauties beyond them, and the effect was. magical. It was easily realised--that, in the design of the Exhibition buildings these pools, graceful in themselves, play a vital part as mirrors. The Exhibition will "not, haye v been properly seen until one has visited it on a calm evening. , Although the attendance yesterday was not as great as at the weekend, the authorities expressed themselves as satisfied with the 13,000-odd who passed through the turnstiles.

\ In addition to the general attraction of the courts and exhibits, several diversions drew isolated crowds to various stands. Notable among them were dancing and physical demonstrations in the women's sections, and .a children's recital and concert at the stand of the Salvation Army.
