(British Official Wireless.)

(Received November 14, 1.30 p.m.)

RUGBY, November 13

The Admiralty announced that the German steamers Mecklenburg 17892 tons) and the Parana (6038 tons) had been intercepted by British warships. The crews abandoned the ships, leaving them in a sinking condition. After the crews had been picked up by the British warships the two ships were finally sunk by gunfire to avoid the chance of their being a danger to navigation.
