ESCAPE INTO CLOUDS

LONDON, November 13,

A German flying-boat appeared off the east coast. Three British fighters on patrol above the cloud level sighted the intruder 2000 feet .below them a few miles out to sea and dived in pursuit. The leader followed the German into the clouds and raked him at a range of 90 feet, shooting off a piece from the tip of a wing. The German machine replied with tracer bullets and escaped into the clouds a few hundred feet above the sea.
