LETTERS TO GERMANY

AUSTRALIAN ARRANGEMENT

MELBOURNE, November 13,

The Minister of Defence, Mr. G. A. Street, announced that "harmless" personal letters may be sent by Australian residents to friends and relatives in Germany or territories occupied by the enemy.

It is officially announced that the Federal Government is acting in cooperation with the British Government in this matter; but arrangements for the dispatch of such, letters are not yet completed.
