Latest advices in-. j dicate that two more establishments foe 'the manufacture of toys have comj menced work. • , ' "At all the North Island shows there* I was an increase of 55 in the number |of manufacturing . units registered in the past quarter, and the list', includes many activities that are. nqw to this country, Wellington reports an increase in the capital of companies already . established ,to the . extent of £198,000. There is heavier taxation, of course, to meet, and difficulties am being experienced in connection with the supply of raw materials, but. these difficulties are transitory and-the expansion taking place; will have a permanent and. beneficial effect- upon the economic . structure of' the Dominion in the days to come."
