Sportsmen and talkers from' all over New Zealand and many other countries will come to Wellington during the months of the Centennial Exhibition, which is drawing to the Capital City numerous sporting events and confer-j ences which normally would be held elsewhere. Even without the visitors! ;who willb come only for the Exhibition Wellington would be provided by the arrivals, for meetings with the busiest time in its, history. Most of the events have: their dates already fixed, and they make.a formidable list. A few of the dates given below are tentative and subject to alteration, but the great majority will not be changed. The list is as follows:— NOVEMBER. November 15-16.—Conference of Associated Chambers of Commerce. November 16-21.—New Zealand Amateur Fencing Association. November 23. —Conference of New Zealand Employers' Federation. •Novembor 25-Deceraber I.—Petone jubilee celebrations including Petone A.A. aad C. The New, Zealand Motor-Body and Coachbuilders' Association and the New Zealand Master Butchers' Association will hold conferences in February or March, and the annual conference of the Honorary Justices' Association is set down for March.
In May the New Zealand Association of Refrigeration Engineers proposes to hold a conference. The usual conferences of the New Zealand Educational Institutes, of the secondary, school teachers, and of the technical school teachers will probably take place from May 13 to May 17, and the annual meeting of the Royal New Zealand Aero Club will occupy a date later in the month. Organisations which intend to hold meetings in Wellington during the Centennial period should notify the Centennial branch of the Internal Affairs Department.
