OLD BOYS TEAMS MEET
Too much loose play and too little employment of strategy distinguished the Prince. of Wales Park match between St. Patrick's and Wellington College Old Boys teams. In spite of the faults, however, the match developed Into an exciting struggle for victory, and" over the last twenty minutes or so the moderately-sized' gallery was in an uprour. The victory of St. Patrick's by 12 points to !i was. on tho wh.o'le, deserved. The team had less of the territorial advantage, particularly in the first spell, but it -had better finish and its players were smarter to capitalise openings. Play in the first spell was not exciting. The teams were level with three points each at the end of it, Baldwin kicking a penalty for Wellington and Biwal scoring a good try for St. Pat's. In the second spell, Flynn scored, Todd kicked a penalty, and Mchermott scored a capital try in the corner for St. Patrick's, and Wright and Burns scored on opposite wings for Wellington. Mr. T. E. (.'ole was referee.
