WOMEN'S GAMES

By defeating College Old GivAs, Technical Old Girls ate now in a practically unassail-, able position for 1939 championship honours, as they havo ono game in hand against their I second team, and have gained a .-point lead | over C.O.G. and Hutt United. Hutt Valley and Training College drew their match, and both Hutt United and Poneke won their games comparatively easily. j College Old Girls gave the impression of being slightly stale in their match will) their old rivals, Technical Old Girls, at Kilbirnie Park. Their forwards seemed to havo lost a little of their "pep" and the team evidently missed tho services of their right back, Miss Green. The game was played at an extremely fast pace throughout. Miss Koborts scoring Technicals first goal just before half-time. Later in the second half Miss Jackson scored again for T.O.G. and the gamo ended with the score 2-0. Hutt Valley drew with Traintug College with ono goal each in the early match at Kilbirnie. Both teams played well, Training College evidently benefiting from the rearrangement of their team. There was no score in the first half, but a few minutes after half-time Miss Spiers netted. Hutt A'allcy rallied after this, and soon after Miss Owens scored from a penalty corner. Poneke had little difficulty in beating University at Karori Park, for, though University played well individually, their team work lacked finish, and Poneke dominated play from tho early stages. The final score was 5-2 in favour of Poneke. The scorers for Poneke were Mrs. Kuru (2) and Miss Enoka (3), and for University Misses Stubbs and Kcan. Hutt nited played well in their gamo at Woburn, defeating T.O.G. II by 5 goals to 1.
