AUSTRALIANS LOSE

DOUBLES AT SEABRIGHT

NEW YORK, July 27,

. In the doubles of the Seabright lawn tennis tournament, G. Mulloy and J. H. Doeg beat the Australians, J. H. Crawford and A. K. Quist, 3-6, 9-7, 6-4.

It was a disappointing match, in which intermittent rain made the courts slippery, despite the spikes worn, Crawford taking a bad fall in the third set.

The Australians, after winning the first set at will and holding the score 7-7 in the second, ran into bad luck. Crawford lost his service when he netted two volleys in the fifteenth game, giving the Americans the advantage.

Other doubles teams winning the day's matches were E. T. Cooke and R. L. Riggs, F A. Parker and D. McNeil, and W. Sabin and C. G. Mako.
