AT THE MIRAMAR SCHOOL
A very successful dance and social evening, held recently in the Miramar South School, was arranged by the members. of the school committee in support of their "Queen" for the carnival being held to augment the school funds. The chairman, Mr. H. J. B. Tomlinson, introduced the "Queen," • Miss Joyce Izett, to the gathering, who gave the candidate a great reception, and in response to the chairman's appeal promised full support during the campaign. The music for the dancing was supplied by Mr. and Mrs McGrath. and extras were played by Mrs. A. Gray and Mr. L. McGregor. The Monte Carlo was won by Miss Souter and partner. It was announced that a picture theatre evening and also a grand carnival dance had been arranged to take place early in August. The ladies' committee, comprising Mesdames H. Tomlinson, L. W. Drager, W. Newdick, E. Familton, L. McGregor, R. Taylor, D. Singer, and H. Garbett, served a Very delectable supper and were warmly congratulated by all present for their efforts to ensure a most enjoyable evening.
