The New Zealand Wholesale Icecream, Manufacturers' Association concluded the programme of its annual "conference with a golf tournament on ,th£ Warwetu Club's course at Whaka-tiki-yesterday. , Fully 75 per cent, of the delegates had,.'never,-had- a golf-club in their hands before, and one left-hander was caljed-jjpon to do his best with a righthanded set of clubs. -;"jrwih"stanley, Wellington, who won -the bobby prize, perhaps created a New Zealand record by taking 17 at a bogey : 3'hole, . -.; After the tournament the president of the association, Mr F. H. Wright, Christchurch, said that he was sure that all, would agree that a golf tour- - nament was the best means of bringing delegates -together. He thanked the Waiwetu Club for the use of the links .and -.the sub-committee, Messrs N. W;Smith (Napier). H P Johnston (Auck.land),, A. Lamont (Wanganui). and W. O. Clarke (Wellington), for arranging the tournament, which- all hoped would " become an annual event.
