BRITISH TROOPS
FRENCH SUGGESTION
NEED FOR EXPERIENCE OF NEW DEFENCES
(Received July 28, 10 a.m.)
PARIS, July 27
M. Beaugitte, chairman of the Army Committee of the Chamber of Deputies, suggests that British troops should exercise in France, particularly in the Maginot Line. He points out that France's new defences have created an armaments system with which the British are not acquainted, and that It Is therefore necessary that they should familiarise themselves with the fortifications which an expeditionary force would man.
