NEW YORK, July 27.

Cuba offered a guarantee of 1000 dol lars in order to have the American zone final heJd in .avana but che manager of the Australian Davis Cup team, H. Hopman, declined, since it would entail too much travelling as well as a too-sudden change back to grass for the national doubles tonr nament and the inter-zone final. It is expected that Cub* and Australia will play at Montreal. Hopman is negotiating with the United States Lawn Tennis Association on the matter.
