DISSENSION IN UNITED AUSTRALIA PARTY

SYDNEY, July 27. I The censure motion in the Legislative Assembly was defeated tonight by 41 votes to 39. The former Minister *of Works and Local Government, Mr. Spooner, voted with the Government, but six members of the Government party voted against it, revealing dissension in the ranks of the United Australia Party.

During the debate thest six referred to the Premier, Mr. Stevens as a dictator, and expressed strong objection to machine politics.
