CRASH INTO SEA

A NEW ZEALAND PILOT

ißy Air Mail, from "The Post's" London Representative.)

LONDON, June 12,

Pilot-Officer Antoniq> •S. Dini (Christchurch) is in hospital suffering from shock, slight , concussion, and other minor injuries following the crash of a Walrus type of amphibian into the sea .off Littlehampton, on June 2, when one man was killed and another disappeared.

At the inquest at Littlehampton on Saturday, on Midshipman Hugh Lawley Chartex'is, aged 20, who was an observer under training in the machine, it was stated that the pilot would probably never recover his memory of the accident.

'•'He remembers flying, and that is all until he found himself in hospital," said Surgeon-Commander . MacDowell.

John Taylor, skipper of the motorship Agility, which picked up the pilot and the body of the midshipman, said the flying-boat crashed into the sea with a terrific splash of water. When they got near they found the pilot sitting on a wing in a very hysterical and delirious state, and Charteris floating face downwards in the water.
