The assets of the National Union f Railwayman at the end of 1938 amounted to nearly £2,400.000, an increase of £175,000 during the year and the highest ever recorded by the union. a?his is revealed in the annual financial statement of Mr. John Marchbank. general secretary of the union, which had a membership of 366,659 on December 31. The general fund balance was £601.148. the death and orphan fund balance £524,106, and the accident fund balance £592,930,
