ON THE TARARUAS

(Special to the "Evening Post.") OTAKI, This Day. Heavy falls of snow on the Otaki side of the Tararuas occurred on Wednesday night and last night, and there is now about four inches of snow on the Gorge Road at Otaki Forks, at the commencement of the Hector Track. During the week there were severe frosts in the gorges, followed by mild days. Given fair weather, prospects for skiing during the weekend are excellent Today in Otaki there was bright sunshine and the tops of the ranges were visible well back.
