COMRADE FAREWELLED
Captain W. J. Melville, of Wellington, is leaving for England today by i the Rangitiki, on account of his health j His brother, the late Sir James Melville, will be remembered by members of the N.Z.E.F. as Major Melville, of the British General Headquarters at Mudros Island. Captain Melville was employed in the Justice Department at Danneyirke, Grey- . mouth, and Hawera. He was organis--1 ing secretary of the Dannevirke Hunt Club. He left New Zealand with the Mounted Rifles in the Great War. Returning in 1918. he was on the trainingstaff at Featherston until the Armistice.
Last evening Captain Melville was entertained at a. gathering of the executive of the Anzac Mounted Division and a presentation was made by the president, Lieutenant J. Stellin. The division, he said, had a very interesting and famous career, and members, although coming from all parts of the Dominion, had all a common interest in maintaining its traditions. Captain . Melville had kept alive the I interests of the division by his various ' talks over 2YA, and these had been listened to with keen appreciation. The evening was livened with music, song,. and story, and the toast of the guest was drunk with enthusiasm.
