PACIFIC TRADE

SAILINGS OF SHIPS

REDUCTION POSSIBLE

(By Telegraph—Press Association.)

AUCKLAND, July 27,

A warning to shippers of a possible curtailment of future loadings from Pacific Coast ports of the United States of America and Canada through a falling-off in cargoe is contained in a circular issued by the Union Steam Ship Company.

The rpstriction of imports into New Zealand is affecting trade, and the company, which carries the bulk of cargoes from Pacific Coast ports to the Dominion, will probably reduce the number of sailings in the service. Any rearrangement will naturally not affect schedules in the Vancouver service of the Canadian-Australasian liners, and will apply only to the fleet of cargo ships maintained by the company in the trans-Pacific trade.
