Dr. Stout thanked the council for the honour it had done him by electing him chairman. His family, he said, had been associated with: the college for a
good number of years on and off, and for that reason he would probably feel the honour even more. Dr. Stout also welcomed the new members, remarking that the council was fortunate in having the service of men with such wide educational experience.
The council as now constituted consists of Dr. Stout, Sir Thomas Hunter, Mr. Justice Smith, Professor F. F. Miles, and Messrs W. A. Armour, F. L. Combs. W. V. Dyer, S. Eichelbaum, T. Forsyth, M. M. F. Luckie, H F. O'Leary, M. H. Oram, H. A. Parkinson, W. P. Rollings, R. S. V. Simpson, and L. W. McKenzie. At last night's meeting Mr. Justice Smith and Mr. W. P. Rollings were absent, the former having been delayed by the weather in Dunedin, and Mr. Rollings being indisposed.
