RANSOM NOT PAID

KIDNAPPED MISSIONARY

REWARD FOR GO-BETWEENS

(Independent Cable Service.)

(Received July 27, 11.5 a.m.)

JERUSALEM, July 26.

The ransom of £1000 demanded by the kidnappers of the American missionary Mr. Gerald Goldmer, who was released yesterday, was not paid. A reward was handed to the go-betweens, who manoeuvred for his liberation by appealing to the brigands not to tarnish the character of the Arab political movement by kidnapping a Christian pilgrim.
