HERE and THERE-
Saturday at the Mayfair.
Mothers Entertained,
Saturday nights at -the Mayfair Cabaret are rapidly gaining in popularity. Last Saturday the gay crowd included a large party who had previously attended a big "five o'clock" at the Grand Hotel. A birthday party was held in- one of the large alcoves, and numerous dancers were present. The new decorations and furnishings which include attractive mirrors and drapings made an effective background. The cabaret will be open every Saturday night throughout the season, and intending patrons are advised to reserve their tables early.
The committee of the Wellington After-care Association recently entertained the mothers of the children at an afternoon tea at the Lyceum Club. The pleasant room was decorated with pale blue irises and Iceland poppies. Mrs. Moore, president, received the guests. The competition for a baby's outfit was won by Mrs. Lappin, and Mrs. Outhwaite played several musical items. The association recorded its thanks to the Minister of Internal Affairs, the Hon. Mr. Parry, for a further donation from the art union funds.
