RUBBER EXPORT QUOTA
(British Official Wireless.) (Received July 27, 11 aim.) RUGBY, July 26. The International Rubber Regulation Committee today revised the decision announced in May and fixed 60 per cent, of the basic quotas for 1939 as the permissible exportable amount for July, August, and, September. The Committee also fixed 60 per cent, as the permissible exportable amount for October, November, and December. The Committee has provisionally decided to meet early in September if in the meantime Britain should request a release of rubber in connection with the agreement between Britain and America for an exchange of cotton and rubber.
The rubber export quota for the third quarter of this year was fixed in May at 55 per cent, compared with 50 per cent, for the April-June quarter. Last week's closing quotation in London for plant^+ion-smoked ribbed sheet rubber was B^d a lb, comoared with Rd two months ago, and 7 9-16 don July 23, 1938. .
