POSITION UNCHANGED

The Port Line's Wellington office reported that the position with the Port Bowen was still the same today There was a heavy sea running at Castlecliff and until it went down nothing further could be done. A lifeboat is being used to transfer stores and fresh water to the Port Bowen. It is impossible to take heavy gear for remooring the ship out in the boat, however, and until the weather moderates this work cannot be touched.
