ONE STRUCK BY POWER-LINE

INVERCARGILL, This Day.

In many parts of Southland cars and buses are stuck in drifts or in ditches.

When Mr. J. G. North was driving his car along the Bainfield Road, near the city, yesterday afternoon, a 3300----volt power-lino leU on his car. He stepped out, but remembers nothing more till he regained consciousness in the hospital, where he is suffering from severe shock.

Many country schools have been closed, the committees having been given full authority to do so by the Education Board.

In many country districts, particularly near Mossburn, farmers are having serious difficulty in getting supplies.
