SAFETY ON ROADS

(To the Editor.)

Sir,—l feel sure that many will agree that the Hon. Robert Semple, in the capacity of Minister of Public Works and Transport, has done more in a short space of time in the way of preservation of human life and to the comfort of every road-user than any of his predecessors, and that instead of being ridiculed by the Opposition he deserves the contrary. In fact, I feel sure we will live to see his name and representations one day heading New Zealand's roll of honour.—l am, etc.,

L. JACK.
