TRAWLER HELD UP
TROUBLE WITH CREW
SUPPLIES AFFECTED
The steam trawler Futurist has been idle at Wellington for about seven weeks, as the result of the attitude adopted by certain of the crew. It was stated today that the trouble arose through firemen who had been on the -vessel for' about ,fiye or six weeks objecting Ato sailing with a sea-man-fisherman who has been employed by New Zealand Fisheries, Ltd., owners of the Futurist, for some years. The company took a firm stand in the matter, and the result has been that the ship has been held up here .ever since. " j '= The company depends dn the Futu-I Sr'ist for about 60 per cent, of „its fish > supplies," and through tne vessel being Out of commission the quantity of fish available locally has naturally been affected.
