THANKSGIVING SERVICE

(Received July 3, noon.) LONDON, July 2. Crowds watched their' Majesties arrive at Westminster Abbey for the thanksgiving service for their safe return from their American tour. The congregation included the Secretary for the Dominions, Sir Thomas Inskip, and other Ministers, and members of the Royal household. The dean, the Rt. Rev. de Labilliere, offered a special prayer. Canon F. R. Barry, in his sermon, said the tour had revealed the true meaning of the Commonwealth. ' i "Civilisation." added Canon Barry, i "has brought.itself to the brink of selfdestruction. The choice lies between Christianity and the jungle. We give thanks for the inspiration to the world j by their Majesties' journey."
