"After an exceedingly exciting match Oriental Beat University by 9 points to 8 in a senior first division game at Kelbutn Park. Considering the greasy state of the ground and ball there was some excellent combination by the backs of both teams and the forwards, particularly University's, went Well in the loose. The defence of the Oriental side, with Murdoch and Stephenson prominent in this respect -was 1b almost direct contrast to the indifferent defensive play of the students. Klsseiv although he kicked with judgment, fotion'd lthe Ball difficult to handle, and O'fiega&'a poor tackling allowed BurgeSs to score "Oriental's first points. Butters, Hum* pherson, and Randall were the pick of the Oriental forwards, while Hansen (University) was the best forward on the paddock. For Oriental, Burgess and Jack scored tries and Burgess kicked a penalty goal. University s pointsr-cartie- from a try by Young, converted by Rea, and a penalty goal by Kissel. The referee was Mr. B. .Matthews.
