GEAR MEAT COMPANY
Due to the small quantity or stock at the present time being offered for export, the Gear Meat Preserving and Freezing Company of New Zealand, [Ltd., is closing down its slaughtering department for a period of from two Ito three months. Killing arrangements have been made locally to supply the company's i i shipping and retail trade. The fertiliser and tinned meat departments will continue in operation to execute all business. These arrangements will necessitate a reduction of. staff, but ! little more than ordinarily takes place at this time of the year. The majority of freezing works in J this portion of the North Island have now closed down for the winter.
