June. 30 (1939) 4.681-8 March 1 (1938) 5.02 London on New York on August 2, 1938, was quoted at 4.90|- dollars to £1 j sterling, but during the European! crisis on September 28 the rate ■ was 4.63, and during October it varied between 4.78J and 4.75 3-8. The range for 1939 was 4.62| (January 4) to 4.69 k ! {February 25); since then the rate has been relatively constant at from 4.68 1-8 to 4.68f.
