COMMENT ON PLAYERS
Wesley have a vary promising fourth grade player, now showing outstanding form, Johansen. - Island Bay senior reserve team is improving steadily and playing good hockey. The stickwork of J. Tynam, Karori fourth grade man, is attracting attention, and he shows a real understanding of the game. ' Dave Beresford, University senior goalie, continues to show good form. Dawson, Wellington inside right, is playing well, and has a good idea of positional play. M. Browne's goals won the day against Hum last week in1 the senior grade. He has continued to show top! form. ■■•■' ■ ' .■.■■■•••"■' '.\ ■'.■'. '■ ■• | D. McColl and Moore, goalies for Hutt and Karori respectively, both came out of a hard afternoon's work with colours flying. ■'''■.."■' It would "be hard to find a harder working pair of halves in Wellington at the present time than C. Muir and Cocker, of Hutt. They are showing consistently good form on both attack and defence. G. Bullen, left wing for Hutt, played an excellent game against Karori, strong running and good centres being a feature of his play. Karori centre-half, McLean, is proving a tower of strength to.his side and his sense of anticipation';-;Is good; The general; standard of defence in Wellington senior hockey is good, arid S. Wilson (Huia), K. Perrin, Spiers, and Adams (Karori), E. Muir ' (Hutt), V. Styles (Technical), Latham and Bade (Wesley) are all sound men. It is a pity that E. McLeod is not able to turn out regularly on account of business travelling. Hutt miss him badly. "- »■. -
