GOOD DEMAND FOR LAMB
The Bank of New Zealand, produce department, has received the following advice from its London office as at close of business this week: —The market for both wethers and ewes is steady and no material change is expected yet. There is a good demand for lambs and prices are firm. Smaller supplies of chilled beef have caused prices to harden. Wethers, light 3 7-8 d to 4 7-8 d per lb. heavy 2 7-8 dto 3 5-8 d; ewes. 2 3-8 d to 3 7-8 d; lambs, 2's 7 l-8d to 7 3-'Bd, B's 6 5-8 dto 6 7-Bd, 4's 6Jd to 6 3-Bd, seconds 6 7-8 dto 7 l-8d; chilled hinds, 4|d to 5Jd; fores, 3d to 3id.
